Ancient Discovery of Cajun Technology (Cajun humor)

New York, New York

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, New York scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Los Angeles, California

Not to be out-done by the New Yorkers, in the weeks that followed in southern California, an archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet and shortly after the headlines in the LA Times newspaper read: "California archaeologists have found traces of 200 year old copper wire and have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than New York."

Carencro, Louisiana

One week later, a local newspaper in south Louisiana reported the following: "After digging as deep as 30 feet in his pasture near Carencro, (Lafayette Parish, Louisiana), T-Boy Boudreaux, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing! T-Boy has therefore concluded that 300 years ago, Cajuns had already gone wireless."

Thank God for T-Boy.

Boudreaux and Dat Doggone Dog! (Cajun humor)

Boudreaux and his wife Clotille lived on a little farm just outside of the city of Mamou, Louisiana.

One day Clotille said, "Mais, Boudreaux, you have to get rid of dat dog. All he does is lie under de front porch and turn over da trash cans."

Boudreaux said, "Okay Cher. I'll get rid of him."

He put the dog in the pickup, drove down the road a couple of miles, and dumped him out. He drove home and in a few minutes the dog showed up. So he put him back in the truck, drove several more miles and dumped him out.

After Boudreaux got back home, the dog showed up again.

Clotille said, "You have to take him out and drive around and around a lot in circles, den dump him out. Dat way he won't know da way home."

Boudreaux said, "You some smart, Clotille, and dat's why I marry you."

Boudreaux again took the dog, and drove further out. Then he drove all around and zigzagged in and out the back roads a lot then dumped the dog out.

He started back home but pulled over and parked and called Clotille on his cell phone.

"Has dat dog come back yet?"

Clotille answered, "Yes, he just came in."

Boudreaux said, "Well, put him up to da phone - I'm lost."     ... Ahheee!!

Boudreaux and the Snake (Cajun humor)

Upon arriving at the edge of the bayou to do a little fishing, T-Boy Boudreaux soon realized he had forgotten to bring any bait.

Just then he happened to see a little garter snake passing by with a worm in its mouth.

Boudreaux snatched up the little snake and robbed him of his worm.

Feeling sorry for the little snake with no lunch, T-Boy snatched him up again and poured a little Bud Light down his throat. Then he went about his fishing.

An hour or so later he felt a tug at his pant leg. Looking down, T-boy saw the same snake with three more worms in his mouth.

So, I guess the moral of the story is "Where there's life--there's Budweiser".

Cajun Detective Division - Sherlock Boudreaux (Cajun Humor)

The Louisiana State Police had received numerous reports of illegal cockfights being held in the area around Abbeville, Louisiana, so the Commander dispatched their famous field detective, Sherlock Boudreaux, from Thibodeaux to investigate.

Boudreaux promptly began his investigation and then reported to his Commander the very next morning.

"Dey is tree main groups involved in dis rooster fightin'", he began.

"Good work! Who are they, the Commander asked?

Boudreaux replied confidently, "De Texas Aggies, de local Cajuns, and de Mafia from N'awlins".

Puzzled, the Commander asked, "Now Boudreaux, how did you find all that out in one night?"

"Well," he replied, "I went down and done seen dat rooster fight in person. And I knowed immediately dat dem Aggies was involved when a Duck was entered in the fight."

The Commander nodded. "I'll buy that, but what about the others?"

Boudreaux nodded knowingly, "Well, I knowed de Cajuns was involved when somebody bet on de duck!"

"Ah, I see, I see...." sighed the Commander, "And how did you figure the Mafia was involved?"

"De duck won."

The Helicopter Ride (Cajun Humor)

Boudreaux and his wife Clotile would go to the state fair every year, and every year Boudreaux would tell his beloved, "Clotile, I'd like to ride in that helicopter. "

Clotile always replied, "I know Boudreaux, but that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks!"

One year Boudreaux and Clotile went to the fair, and Boudreaux said, "Clotile, I'm 75 years old. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance."

To this, Clotile replied, "Boudreaux, that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks"

The pilot overheard the couple and said, "Folks I'll make you a deal. I'll take both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and not say one word I won't charge you a penny! But, if you say just one word then it will cost you the fifty dollars”

Boudreaux and Clotile agreed and up they went.

The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard.

He did his daredevil tricks over and over again,

But still, not a word.

When they landed, the pilot turned to Boudreaux and said,

"By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I'm impressed!"

Boudreaux replied, "Well, to told you the truth, I almost said something when Clotile fell out, but you know, fifty bucks is fifty bucks!"

Bubba Becomes a Catholic (Cajun Humor)

Years ago there was an Ozark Mountains Arkansas hillbilly, named Bubba Lewis, who moved to the small remote village of Butte LaRose, Louisiana, where the general population there is predominantly Catholic. He moved there during the Catholic Holy Days of Lent. Parishioners are not allowed to eat meat on Friday during this time.

Every Friday evening after work, Bubba, who was a Baptist, would barbeque a venison steak on his outdoor grill. This didn't set too well with his neighbor Boudreaux, who was tempted from the wonderful aroma of Bubba's barbeque.  After a couple weeks of this, it caused such a problem with Boudreaux and his neighbors that they decided to talk to the priest about Bubba's blatant disregard for their religious tradition.

The Priest came to visit Bubba and suggested that he become a Catholic. After several classes and much study, Bubba attended Mass.....and as the priest sprinkled holy water over him, he said, "You were born a Baptist, and raised a Baptist, but now you are a Catholic."

Bubba's neighbors were greatly relieved, until Friday night arrived, and the wonderful aroma of grilled venison again filled the neighborhood. The Priest was called immediately by the neighbors and as he rushed into Bubba's yard clutching a rosary preparing to scold him, he stopped and watched in amazement.

There stood Bubba, clutching a small bottle of holy water which he carefully sprinkled over the grilling meat and chanted: "You wuz born a deer, you wuz raised a deer, but now you is a catfish.

Boudreaux and the Frog -- With Age Comes Wisdom

Boudreaux was a 72 year old widower and an avid fisherman. One day while fishing in his pirogue along the bayou near his home he heard the sound of someone's voice. He thought he may have been dreaming because there was no one around.

As he listened carefully he heard it again.

"Pick me up", the voice said.

Boudreaux looked around and saw that it was a frog sitting on a lily pad about a foot away from his boat.

The old Cajun man asked the frog, 'Are you talking to me?'.

The frog said, "Yes, I'm talking to you. Pick me up and kiss me then I will turn into the most beautiful woman you have ever seen in your life and I will make sure all your friends are envious and jealous because I will become your bride".

The old fisherman looked at the frog for a short time. He then reached over and gently picked-up the frog and carefully put the creature in his front shirt pocket.

The frog said to Boudreaux, "Hey! Are you crazy? Didn't you just hear what I told you? I said to kiss me and I will turn into your beautiful bride."

The old man opened his pocket and looked at the frog and said, 'Nah. At my age I would rather have a talking frog.'

With age comes wisdom.

Texan vs. Cajun: The $100 Beer Bet (Cajun humor)

A big ol' Texan walks into a Cajun bar in south Louisiana and orders 4 long-neck beers. After drinking all of them, one after another, he orders 4 more from the bartender.

He does the same thing with the next four beers. Then, he wipes off the foam on his handlebar mustache with his shirt sleeve, turned and challenged Boudreaux and Thibodeaux, sitting at a nearby table, to a beer bet for $100.

To the Cajuns the Texan said, "I bet $100 that neither one of you can drink a case of beer in 45 minutes."

That was the time Boudreaux left the bar and Thibodeaux told the Texan he wasn't interested.

About 30 minutes later Boudreaux storms back into the bar and asked the Texan if the beer bet was still on.

Absolutely! The Texan didn't stutter.

Boudreaux says "I'll take that bet!"

Texan said, "Your on!"

"But, I want to know why you left the bar awhile ago and didn't take my bet then?"

Boudreaux said, "Well. It's like this. I didn't have $100 to bet you at the time, but you see that bar across the street over there?"

"Yea!" The Texan nodded.

"Well, I went over there to see if I could do it. I did it in 30 minutes flat! Now, are there anymore questions before I begin?"

Da End is Near! | Turn Yo Self 'Round Now! (Cajun Humor)

Reverend Boudreaux was the part-time pastor of the local Cajun Baptist Church, and Pastor Thibodeaux was the minister of the Covenant Church across the road.

They were standing by the road and both were pounding a sign into the ground that read:

As a car sped past them, the driver leaned out his window and yelled, “You religious nuts!”

From the curve in the road they heard screeching tires, and a big splash . . .

The Reverend Boudreaux turns to Pastor Thibodeaux and asks, “Do ya tink maybe da signs should jus say Bridge Out?”

Swamp Creatures - (Cajun Humor)

Audio

Background Music: "Boppin' The Rock" by Clifton Chenier on Bayou Blues

This little Cajun yarn should win a contest as one of the most frightening South Louisiana swamp stories of all times. It's called SWAMP CREATURES.

Boudreaux, an 80-year-old South Louisiana Cajun, goes to the doctor for his every year check-up.

The doctor is amazed at what good shape he is in and asks, "How do you stay in such great physical condition, Boudreaux?"

“I stay in the swamp and I hunt and fish every day", said the old Cajun.  "Dat's why I'm in such good shape. I'm up well before daylight and out hunting or fishing all day. I have a beer for breakfast and at lunch and wid my supper. And, I have a shot of hooch before bed time. And, I say my prayers every night. And all is well wid me."

Well", says the doctor, "I'm sure the prayers help, but there's got to be more to it. How old was your father when he died?"

"Who said Pop is dead?"

The doctor is amazed. "You mean you are 80 years old and your father is still alive? How old he is?"

"Pop be 100 next month," replied Boudreaux. "In fact, he hunted with me dis mornin', and den we went to a beer joint for a while and had a few beers and dat's why he's still alive. He is a tough Cajun man and he hunts and fishes everyday, too.”

"Well, the doctor says, that's great! But, I'm sure there's more to it than that. How about your father's father? How old was he when he died?"

"Who said my Paw Paw's dead?"

Stunned, the doctor asks, "You mean you are 80 years old, your father is 100 and your grandfather is still living? Incredible! How old he is?"

"We tink 'bout 118." says the old Cajun. He likes his beer, too, but he won't touch the hard stuff."

The doctor is getting frustrated at this point, "So, I guess your grandfather went hunting and fishing with you and your father this morning, too?"

"No, Paw Paw couldn't go dis time. He's gettin' married today."

At this point the doctor is close to losing it. "Getting married! Why would a 118-year-old man want to get married?"

Boudreaux looked down at the floor and mumbled "Who said he wanted to?"

Now THAT, my friends, I think you will agree … is most frightening! Signature Icon
